CLIENT LOGO DESIGN
Commissioned by the Christian publishing company, Thomas E. Lowe, my Professional Practices class was asked to create a new logo for this company that best expresses their values and represents them. After meeting with the client, they were looking for a logo that referenced their connection to Columnia, New York City, or nature, without having cliche Christian content. There were multiple phases for this project starting with creating 54 different logo designs and then the next phase was choosing three and creating 12 variants of each. Each phase continued in a similar manner with the third being choosing one of the final variants and making 12 more logos with small differences. We then chose one and began the process of making final tweaks and adjustments and then with this logo we then made mockups and a professional presentation to show the client, completed with the final logo in color, black and white, and a mockup page.
PHASE 1
The first phase of this project was to create 54 different logos that related to a company. The person the company is named after, Thomas E. Lowe, had deep missionary histroy rooted in Columbia and they wanted to have a deep connection to the Andes Mountains and the native flowers of Columbia, which is where most of my designs flowed from. Other designs vary from books, New York City (where their publishing company is located), or the national animal of Columbia (the condor).
PHASE 2
PHASE 3
The final phase of this project started with picking one logo and making final decisions to create one final logo. One of my fountain pen designs was chosen as my strongest and I created small variations in text, size and shape in the logo to push it to the strongest it could be. I then created a presentation page for meeting with the client and showing my final design to them.
