IMAGE + TYPE SERIES
This project was assigned in my Typography I class where we were given this project to create a series of images in Photoshop, each based off of either gesture, figure or texture. These images were supposed to be different in nature, but cohesive in style. This had many different phases to it leading up with the final phase being creating an animation with one of the images being made.
PHASE 1
The first phase of this project started with developing an awareness to typographic form by using croppings of letterforms to create cohesion across the grid. There were three different sets to be created using the same characters: p n t c ! e o y 0 4 2 2. The sets were to be different despite using the same characters.
PHASE 2
The second phase was taking these three sets and making three different collages using the figures in each set, while designs were supposed to be different, yet cohesive in nature. This was a physical process using printed copies and cutting shapes out to paste them on another paper.
PHASE 3
The third phase was then going back to digital to create these images using Photoshop. We had to take thirty photos total, ten of figure, gesture, and texture, and then using our previous colleges we developed three of the photos into a series of images.
PHASE 4
The final phase was choosing one of our images, and making a 10 second animation on Photoshop.
